Need More Money, Build Your Self Worth

The relationship between money and self worth seems to be popular topic.  I for one am very excited.  It is a message that I have been sharing for over 12 years as a coach and successful entrepreneur. I learned this on a very personal level over 20 years ago.

Today the topic came on the Oprah Show with her guest Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. Sarah talked about her financial struggles and mistakes she has made over the years.  When she came to terms with her truth she realized her issue was lack of self worth and her need to please for approval.

“I had it all and I blew it”

“I look back at that girl 25 years ago and I see a girl who didn’t know who she was.”  “She had it all and didn’t know it”  “She didn’t know what a great girl she is”  “I realize now I had it all and I blew it.”

When asked what she would say to the girl in her wedding dress 25 years ago she said:

“If I could talk to her I would tell her you are a great girl, just know it”

Suze Orman was asked to come in and help Sarah deal with her dire financial situation.  The Duchess has experiences several job losses in the past few years an apparently has no money.  Now I am not a personal fan favorite of Suze Orman but I totally agree with what she had to say

“Money is NEVER the problem” If you are having money problems you are making choices that aren’t right for you and it is showing up in your money.

Money or the lack of it is not your problem it is symptom of a bigger, deeper issue.  That issue is self worth, your feeling about yourself.  It stuck me on such a personal level as the Duchess of York sincerely and desperately looked at Suze and desperately asked

“How do I get self worth?  Tell me; please tell me how to I get that?”

Oprah didn’t show the answer to that question so I am going to give it to you right now.

You are great, you have value and you are important.  KNOW IT!  If you desire or require a satisfying, vibrant financial life implement the steps below.

Know Your Self Worth

Now matter what your personal or financial situation you have value because you exist.  You are important and you have many gifts and talents to share with yourself and the world.  Take the time to get to know what those gifts are.  You can begin by making a list of 50 gifts that you personally possess. Those talents can be shared but to do that you need to be aware of them.

Acknowledge What You Do Well Every Day

Make it your daily commitment to write daily five things that you did well during the day.  Don’t judge the value of what you did or how “exciting” or worthwhile the task was.  Just record it as a personal “pat on the back” for a job well done. The key to success and financial freedom is to build your self esteem.

Keep a Gratitude Journal

That saddest thing about low self worth is that you are unable to see or accept what you do have.  You tend to focus on things outside of you and what you want.  When you do that you are saying you don’t have anything of value feeding the vicious cycle of low self esteem.  Keep a gratitude journal.  Take the time daily to record what the day gave you.  Acknowledge what happened that you could be grateful for.  You could give thanks for your heath, your relationships.  A great way to attract more money is to be grateful for the money that you do have.

I have a question for you….

I was talking about my results the past two weeks and I said something like I am excited about the results I am getting considering I am starting over.  My friend and mastermind participant,  Dallas Cyr, who is a great inspirational speaker in his own right asked me this great question:

“Are you really starting over or are you starting fresh?”

Interesting question?  Don’t you think?

He continued to explain….

“Starting over denotes having nothing and going back to the beginning.

Are you really starting from the beginning?

Or

Are  you picking up from where you left off  with all that you have gained?”

Can you see that you are moving forward with a new confidence, knowledge and resources that you didn’t have before you started?  “So with that said aren’t you really just saying I am excited about starting fresh?”

Yes, I am excited about starting fresh!  How about you?

** A SIB Lesson: Where are the clients? **

Say you want more clients.

You state the intention “I now attract
more clients into my life.”

You sit, meditate, feel the good vibes
of having more clients.

If you’re smart, you might even take
some action.

But — the clients don’t come.

Why not?

Does any of this Success Is Your Birthright stuff work?

Why didn’t you attract what you intended?

Most likely because you are unconsciously creating

Success stoppers such as –

Focusing on the lack of clients

Confusing what you want with what makes you happy

Unrealistic expectations of how clients will come to you

Nonsupporting beliefs about what it will take to increase business

No real strategy to attract new clients

If you have one or more of these limiting
barriers going on within you, do you really think you’ll
attract any clients?

In truth, you’ll attract NOT having any clients.

Why?

Because your unconscious counter-intention
(I don’t have enough) will veto your conscious
intention (“I now attract more clients into my life”).

Is it any wonder some people say The Law of Attraction
or Success Is Your Birthright (SIB) isn’t true?

Obviously, once you clear those hidden
blocks/beliefs to your success, your success
has nothing in the way of happening.

The roadblocks are gone.

You’re clear.

But *how* do you get clear?

After all, the unconscious success stoppers are
UN-conscious.

So how do you find them and erase them?

I’ve created a system to help
myself and others get clear for years now.

And I keep looking for new ways to apply

it to my life and the lives of my students.
