What is the difference between an intention and a goal?

The biggest question I get asked is what is the difference between goals and intentions?  There is a huge difference and you receiving your birthright depends on you knowing the difference.  Can you remember a time where you focused your entire existence on a goal only to realize  you didn’t feel the way you thought you would when you reached the end?

Have you found your self at the end of achieving a huge  goal only to feel somewhat flat or disappointed?  Similar to the experience of  eating your way to  the bottom of a cracker jack box only to find out the prize is missing.

The inherent problem with goals

As  a successful achievers you are taught to focus on your goals and what you want.  You  are told to be successful, set a goal and achieve it.  So you do it again and again like a hamster on a tread wheel or an addict seeking your next high. You spend all your time focusing on the doing in life rather than being and enjoying the experience of today.

The problem with setting a goal without an intention to direct it is that you tend to focus on what you think it takes to receive what you really desire.

Goal setting focuses you on the future and your need to work for success.

I shared the answer  last night during our orientation of  Summer Success Boot Camp.

The Secret of Success

In order to be successful or receive success you must become what you are looking for, only then can do you have the power and the ability to attract into  your reality.

Intentions work in the opposite and in relationship with the true nature of the creation.   Setting intention focuses you on the now and the ability to receive success.  Being in your desire attracts it almost immediately and you feel successful despite your current circumstances or obstacles..

The power of  the law of attraction or the book/DVD the secret, lies in your ability to desire and focus on the intended outcome you desire to experience.

Huh, What did you just say Kim?

It’s confusing at first but it is true.  To attract what you really want you must become it.

Here is an example.

Almost every student on the call last night made some reference to the need to create money, financial independence or security.   I asked this question:

“What do you think the money, security, independence will bring you?”  There answers were a combination of  peace of mind, happiness, energy etc.

I said “great, that is your intention, what you really desire so we will teach you to focus on that.”

“Try on peace of mind right now”

They all did and they were amazed.  They all were experiencing the outcome they were hoping for.  The goal wasn’t necessary.  Now that they are connected to what they intend we can spend the rest of boot camp aligning there reality and life to that experience.  They are beginning to attract everything that is available in peace of mind, happiness and energy.  Now that they are focused on their desire the money will show up in a way that keeps them in alignment with peace of mind rather  in conflict with it.

They learned the truth, focusing on the money will not bring you happiness.  Focusing on what makes you happy will definitely attract the money.

Like my students you can experience the power of the present and the desire you are seeking.

Share your thoughts or ask me a question.

Let me know what you are intending.  Your success is waiting to be received.
